Biography of Leo Mol

Leo Mol was born in the Ukraine in 1915. In 1948 Leo and his wife, Margareth emigrated to Canada and made their home in Winnipeg.

Leo Mol is an internationally reknowned sculptor and artist. In 1989 Leo Mol was appointed an officer of the Order of Canada in recognition of his artistic contributions to his adopted country.

He has also completed more than eighty major stained glass windows in churches throughout Winnipeg. During the 1950's he became well known for his ceramic figurines.

During his career, Leo Mol accumulated a complete collection of his own sculpture work. In the interest of keeping the collection intact, Leo Mol gifted this personal legacy to the people of Winnipeg. The garden and gallery house over 300 bronzes, ceramics, paintings and drawings.
